Since Papa’s opened over 70 years ago, we have been holding charitable collections during the holiday season to help families in need. Each year along with our family of associates, loyal customers and friends we collect and donate needed items, which are then distributed to local charities to be given to families. For the second year, in conjunction with our friends at iHeartMedia Communities, through the month of December we will be collecting new and unwrapped household items and winter clothing to support the families supported by the Prudence Crandell Center, located in New Britain, CT.
For over 44 years, Prudence Crandall Center has been a leader in our state’s efforts to reduce the devastating impact of domestic violence in the lives of victims, their children, and our community. All of the families who receive these donations are so appreciative of our efforts to make their holidays a little brighter as they work to get their lives on track with a life without violence. Each year our collection efforts grow and we are able to support more and more families in need.
Our Fill-the-Van collection will continue through to December 18th. Your help filling the van, which is located next to our reception desk, is greatly appreciated. The Prudence Crandall Center has expressed the need for new warm pjs in children and adult sizes, slippers, twin-size comforters, sheets & blankets, socks & underwear, fleeces, grocery store gift cards, Target and Walmart gift cards, etc. These essentials are CONSTANTLY in need. Cash donations are also accepted and will be matched by Papa’s and will be used to purchase items needed.
This tradition of giving back to the community, which goes back over 70 years, is very important to the Papa’s family and our family of associates. Thank you for your support this holiday season.
